breath of life
You know the first Narnia movie, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? How Aslan breathes and the frozen statues come alive again, in the witches castle while Peter and Edmund are fighting in the war?
Well, we just watched it, and I totally missed something that my sister totally got: It was the breath of life. Aslan's breath was the breath of life.
God's breath is the breath of life.
"The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Genesis 2:7
We live because of God; we should be living for God.
His breath saved us. His breathed made us alive again.

ReplyDeleteThe breath of life. I didn't get it either! Everyone always talked about the Christian message behind it, and I was like?! I knew that the lion was supposed to portray God, but I didn't know it was supposed to be the breath of life! Thanks so much for clearing that up. Really, I was JUST thinking about that for some reason, and now I get it! :D Haha thx!

Very true! It'd be so selfish for the frozen statues not to continuously thank Aslan for giving them life by breathing on them. I love the Narnia stories, they have amazing symbolism and great messages.
