if i were standing beside the Son of God.

Matthew 16:15-16.
Then He asked them, "But who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."

I read this. And I looked out my window and I started to imagine what it would be like to be standing beside the Son of God.

I went outside, sat on a cushion. You wouldn't believe the wind, whipping its way around the trees and the grass and the whole world. Rain dotted its way onto the verandah, raindrops sticking themselves onto my jacket.

If I were standing beside the Son of God...

Out here in the wind, I would be fearless. Because He is in charge of the wind.

I would be safe in the darkest places and comforted in the loneliest times because He gave up His life to safe me

He would always protect me, always keep me safe. He would hold me close to Him and never let me go.

We'd walk places and never be lost on the road, because He created the road

I wouldn't worry about what was going to happen, because He knows the plans he has for me, plans to prosper and not to harm

I wouldn't try to change for other people because the One beside me made me... in His image.

I wouldn't keep trying to get my own way because He would take the last place and I'd walk with Him and He would love and because of Him I would love, too.

And it dawned on me.
The Son of God, He is beside me.
And His name is Jesus.

It's nothing about the past, the future, mistakes and succeedings.
It's about Christ, here. We are broken,
and Christ is here.
