Through Love

On Nancy Rue's blog, people have been talking about their family not being Christians and stuff, so I thought I'd post about it here, at Girlz 4 God.

So, you have friends or family that aren't Christians? Or maybe you just know of people who aren't. If you said yes, I want you to answer this question.

How do I go about telling them about God?

Do you tell them about Him every chance you get?
Do you do nice things for them, so that they might see God in you?
Or maybe you just ignore them.

You see, while it's really good to tell people about God -- to wintness to them, whatever you like to call it -- we're not supposed to feel like it's our responsibility, that we can't rest until they become Christians -- because if you tell them about God, then, even if it doesn't happen straight away -- it could take years -- God will be with them....it's like, when you tell them about God, a seed is planted, and it takes a long time for it to grow into a flower, right? Yeah, but if it's watered, well, it becomes a flower.

So, what can you do, while you're waiting?

- Pray for them. This is the best thing you can do, I think.

- Talk to them, like you'd talk to anyone else. But don't let them influence you in ways that you know you shouldn't go.

- This doesn't mean you can't talk to them about God -- du-uh! Just don't throw everything onto them, so that they can't even handle it, and they just get sick of you.

- Let them see God through what you do and what you say. Don't swear and make fun of people; how are they going to see God in that? It can be hard, but even try and do something different to everyone else; don't be afraid to step out and stick up for people when they need it.

Oh, and love -- just love everyone. Through love, they'll see God in you. Because God is love.

Luv,Emii

  1. I am very blessed that my parents and little brother are all Christians, sadly some of my cousins and aunts and uncles aren't. This post will really help me spread the Word to them!

    Many blessings,

  4. Hi Emii,
This is a great post and encouarging to all of us who have unsaved family members! I have some extended family members who are not believers, and I must say, witnessing to family is almost harder than witnessing to strangers (I think because you're more worried about affending them, etc.) Thank you so much for the encouragement!

  6. Wow, awesome post! I soo agree. :)
My family is the only 'branch' of my mom's side that are Christians, most of my cousins and my grandparents are like, buddist and stuff...really weird if you ask me. But yeah, we all pray for them but it's tough.

    <3's, Abi.
