Dreams
Everyone has dreams. Something you think about all the time, something you've always wanted to do. Sometimes, when your dreams begin to come true, you think, "Wait. Slow down here; what's happening? It wasn't supposed to feel like this!"
I guess that's just the reality of the dream. But when the {real life} begins to sink in, you have a choice. You can give up and forget your dream. You didn't think it would be this hard, and you just want to go back to the dream part. The place where you can think and wonder and imagine what it would be like; but never actually live it.
There's another choice, though.
You can live your dream. There's a lot of work ahead. But know two things as you begin to work towards living your dream: God will be with you... and with Him, anything is possible.
The other week, I posted a short story I wrote for English. It's called "Reality of a Dream" and it's pretty much about this -- a group of girls who had a dream, and they had to work so hard for it to come true -- but in the end? It did. You can read the story by clicking HERE.
You won't be able to achieve your dream alone.
That's why God gave us friends, family, teachers; people who will be there for us along the way. To help us, encourage us, lead us. But most importantly, God himself. You won't get there without Him. He will be your guide, He will show you the way.
I have a dream. My dream is to become an author. I've wanted to be a writer ever since I can remember. I don't know why. I've always been encouraged in that area -- by my family, teacher's, friends. And writing is what I love to do.
But I can't just sit here and expect that do happen. You know, turn 27, and then decide it's time to write a book. Uh, no. Maybe I won't get published until then. Maybe I won't get a book published until I'm 50! But that won't stop me. I started writing a book last year. It's 123 pages long write now, and I haven't been back to it in a long time. But I know that if I want to reach my goal, my dream, that's what I gotta do! I'm gonna finish this book! And that makes me feel excited.
And how do you know if your dream is what God wants you to do? Well, I guess you just have a feeling of peace, and assurance.
And don't give up. There will be hard times; it might take longer or shorter than other people. But want to know why? Because God has a different plan for us all, and we're all unique and awesome!!
I hope this post has inspired you to keep up at your dreams. :)

This was a great help to me! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI have so many dreams, but I'd say that becoming a writer is at the top of the list. I've always LOVED writing, and I write short stories all the time. I guess we share the same dream, Emi. : )
ReplyDeleteHi Emii,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Good luck on making your dream of becoming an author a reality. You're right; there's a lot of hard work ahead, but in the end, it is worth it.
Blessings,
