more faith
What's faith? Believing in God, yeah? Believing that Jesus died on the cross for us?
So, I have faith in God. I believe He's here.
But I need more faith.
After believing, there's trust. This past week, I've been re-reading a series I read when I was little, the Mandie series by Lois Gladys Leppard. Great books. But there's one message that's been coming across to me in every single of the five books I've read so far.
Trust in God. When Mandie and her friends get into trouble (And believe me, they get into lots of it) they say Mandie's favourite verse, "What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee." Psalm 56:3
But that's not all. As soon as they pray, as soon as they say that line -- it's as if they really do believe that God will get them out of their predicament. And he does. Because they had enough faith to trust that God would help them.
Where do you get that kind of faith and trust? I think maybe God gives us opportunities. Like say if you were lost, like Mandie and her friends, you could either try and get yourself out of it -- or you could trust that God knows what he's doing, and listen to Him. And by not using the fact that you can't hear Him as an exuse.
It's definitely something that I need and want to learn on. Anyone with me? Why don't we make a sort of promise? If we're in trouble, and need help, say the verse -- "What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee." Psalm 56:3.
Memorise it. It's not that hard, it's only one line:P)
And remember that when you put your trust in God, believe that it will be okay, that God is looking after you.
