our purpose
I know something I've realized many times before, but always leave it behind as I worry about those little things that we seem to think equal our life -- things like making sure we don't wear trackies out in public if there's a lot of people around or worrying if people think we look ugly or silly or say the wrong thing and just don't add up to what they think we should be -- or we think we ourselves should be.
Living here is about leading people to that field, that garden -- the one where Jesus is our Shepherd and we are His sheep. Isn't that why we're here? I mean, this world here isn't going to last forever. It's almost beyond that whole man-looks-at-the-outward-appearence but the Lord looks at the heart. Or maybe that's a part of it -- yeah, it's definitely a part of it.
But it seems to mean that this is our purpose in life -- through the gifts God has given you and me, following his direction and the path he leads us along -- showing people the way to a forever life. Letting Jesus' love and hope shine through us. Showing them how to get into that place where Jesus is waiting for them.

great post, emii! i think you're right. well, the Bible says it, too. people look at what's on the outside - clothes, cars, houses. but God looks to see if your heart's in the right place - that's all that really matters.
ReplyDeleteand are trackies like sweats here in america? haha, i speak no aussie! :)
blessings always & forever,
anna :)
I totally agree Emii. Thanks for posting this. It's so true. There is NO point what so ever to life without leading people to Jesus. I mean, its sad to think some people just live for fun, when thats never gonna help them in the long run, you know? Our final destination is heaven, earth is just like living in a hotel or RV on a road trip! I wish more people could just accept that and not be scared. I totally understand your point.
