Book Review: Okay, it's a series review.

The Reinvention of Skylar Hoyt, by Stephanie Morrill. I must've gotten through all three books in a week. And a moment ago, I was just sitting, trying to think about what makes me like these books so much. Writing my thoughts out helped, of course. This is me we're talking about.

And then I realized. There's never a boring moment. You know how, when you're reading a book, there's just that part that you have to push yourself through? And when you're re-reading it (Or am I the only one who does that?) you're basically dreading that part.

Well, that doesn't happen in these books. Ever. And it's not rushed in any way, either. The scenes don't drag on. The conversations aren't endless and pointless. The most important thing? Everything that happens is just so interesting. The characters are real. Likeable.

And now I truly understand what it means when, in making a Character Chart, to have a 'Noble cause' for your character. Take Eli, for example. You could call him selfish. A liar. A big pain when he just gets in the way.

But he had a noble cause. To protect Skylar?
When you see their cause, it's almost impossible to stay mad at them.

It was fun, being apart of this life that is so different to my own. But as different as our lives our, there's always things that we can relate to in characters, aren't there? Like making a decision to do what God wants -- even if no-one else wants that. Skylar really lived that. I want to, too.
