this is real life
Has it really been more than a week? Have Chloe and I really made meringue's three times in one week? Yes and yes.
Last Sunday, I went and watched two of my best friends be baptized. It was amazing, it really was. I cried. I was so not expecting that, and then... well, I did. Because I think there is something special about people saying how they love Jesus. And they want to live for Him.
And it also made me realize. At the church we're at now... there's no sense of community. It doesn't feel like we're going there to worship God with other people who love Him. It's more like we go there because we have to. I saw my friends getting baptized, and you could see that the people were loving Jesus. A community that meets to love Him. It seems, in the past few years, I've missed that aspect in my life. And right now... I think it's more important than it ever was.
What about you? What's your church like -- or don't you go to church? Do you have a bunch of friends who are right with you living for Jesus, or does it seem like you're totally alone?
Is it just me, or does life seem more real everyday? When I was younger, I didn't understand things too deeply. I knew who Jesus was, sure. I still do. But the whole living for Him. Making the right decisions, accepting the opportunities... this is real life. It really is.
Here's a video I discovered this morning -- Alice, by Lisa Mitchell. An Australian singer, songwriter, guitar player... who I think lives in Europe. I'm not totally sure about that. But that's not the point. I just like it. It's different. And I think I'm gonna learn it on guitar.
Ooh, guess what arrived today? A copy of Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyers new book, "Praying for your Future Husband." And yes, I will be reviewing it. So I am quite excited right now.
Hope you're having a great week,
Emii

I agree, this life is real. Nice song, it's very fairytale-ish, in a good way! :) Looking forward to the book review, sounds good!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, and I love the whole fair-taleish aspect. :D
