Praying for Your Future Husband

Written by Robin Jones Gunn (author of the Christy Miller series) and Trisha Goyer, this book was designed to show you some of the things to pray for your husband -- and for yourself.

For me? That's right. Something I walked away with after reading this book was that, at the same time I'm praying that my future husband will be content and wait for me and love God and make the right decisions... I need to be praying the same for me. That I'll be content with my life the way God's planning it, even though I might be disagreeing majorly with his timing or whatnot. That I won't settle with what's here right now, that I'll be patient and listen to Jesus. 


The book contained both Robin and Tricia's stories -- where God was obviously working, even though hearts were broken. Filled with Bible verses, poetry, prayers for you and your future husband, discussion questions at the end of each chapter and little spaces to write things about, "My thoughts about my future husband and I being patient," and "Content," and whatever else the chapter might be called.

And you want to know something else? Prayer are answered. It's shown in those little sections called, "She Prayed... God Answered."

I love quotes. And this book includes some of them, too. As the Miley song in the background is saying right now... It's all right here.

I feel like this book understood me. In the prayers, it was as if my heart was writing the words as I read.

The front cover is cool and unique and creative, and I wasn't disappointed by the book. It was amazing. It's been a few months since I've read it, though; perhaps it's time for a re-read. I know, I know. I took my time in reviewing. But... there's just so much out there to read! :P

"Praying for your future husband... preparing your heart for his." That's what the front cover of the book says. That's what we're doing here. As we pray... God does his God-things. It's real.
