a quote of truth

"Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it." -- CS Lewis, Mere Christianity

  4. Shelley -- I love it, too! I found it over at Sophie's blog, Free to be Me :)

I know, he was one amazing man, Sierra. We have some of his books downstairs, perhaps I will read them...

    Thanks, Browniegirl!

Haha, it's cool that it reminds of Christy Miller, since they're some of the coolest books in the world. :P I would LOVE to surf. So I figured a surf theme for my blog was the next best thing. The background is called Surfer Girl, so I was pretty excited!;)

  6. lovelovelove this quote! This is exactly what I was thinking about a few days earlier... how the struggle of an artist is not to create something totally NEW, but to create something that's been done a million times before and create it in a totally new way! Now a have a quote to go along with my thoughts!!!
