that's our mission

And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again. -- 2 Corinthians 5:15

I don't know about you, but I live under the impression that this is my life, I do the homework and I get to basically control what I do.

The thing is, Jesus died and because He lives in me... I need to be living not for me but for God. You know what I think? It's so hard for us to comprehend this that we ignore it, move on. We pray to God, we ask for help, we want to trust Him -- but really, at least for me -- I don't get what living for God really is.

If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

I forget everytime, and this verse reminded me: It's not about me! It's not about me. LOVE people! Care about them! Instead of wondering if this is going to make me look stupid... act in love. That's what Jesus did. The fact that people hated Him had absolutely no affect on God's plan, did it?  If we obey our Daddy, His plan for our lives will be completed. Oh, we could decide that what the world thinks of us is way more important. But can I just say this one thing?

When you die, when I die -- what the world thinks of us is not going to matter. Not one little bit. It's about what God thinks.

"Therefore, if [Emily] is in Christ, she is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come!"

I'm a follower of Jesus. It's not about telling people they're wrong or making mistakes. I mean, we make mistakes! We're not perfect. No duh.
It's about loving them like Jesus did. Love changes lives. Why do you think we're here today? We're here to love.

That's our mission. Our God-appointed mission. To love. To love like Jesus loves.
