please, just love
remember your words, how the way they can affect
the minds of those you're communicating
demonstrating the truths of your heart

they say words could never break me
but i think we've all discovered
how false that really is

so when you open your mouth
before anything tumbles out
just consider your heart
is it love or hatred
that is being poured out?

i whisper a prayer
to God
i ask Him to fill my soul with
compassion.
to overflow me with peace.
for my eyes to see
and my ears to hear
imagery and words
in the same perspective as does He

take away my worry
allow my laughter to be
genuine and soaked with joy
in You.

and my words
i pray
will be said in
kindness and love
purity and honesty

and you know sometimes i do slip up
more often than not
but God I know
You will help me.
