I read a poem over at Blooming in Christ that Chloe shared, called What's the Point

I was thinking this morning. How does one forget about themselves? I think, perhaps, by looking to God.

You know, I don't deserve Heaven. I've sinned. I was reading a post yesterday by Lily of at Snatched from the Wind, and she said,

If life were truly fair, we humans would all be going to Hell. If life were fair, like we think it should be, God wouldn't care a sniff about us sinners. Because of the sin commited in the Garden of Eden, we would be condemned to an eternal death.
And yet, Jesus chose to save us. Why? Because of grace. Because we have a God who loved us so much, He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sins. Because our Savior chose to go through the terror of Hell, just so we could have the chance to live.
It's by God's grace that we've been saved. His mercy. Nothing to do with me or all the good things I do in this world. I could try and do everything right and never, ever make a mistake, or totally stuff up and say the wrong thing -- but God would never stop loving me any more than He does right now.

To quote Max Lucado,
God loves you just the way you are but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus.
It's nothing to do with us -- everything to do with God's grace and mercy and love. And sacrifice.

Where do I find this notion that I'm good and practically equal with God? I'm not. I mean, my life is a shadow. I'm here today and soon I'll be gone from this world. We like to think we're so significant and everything, don't we? But that's God. Not us. Not me.

God takes this shadow called My Life and uses it for His glory to further His Kingdom. To show His love. My life has nothing to do with me... and everything to do with God.
Romans 12:1-2
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.  [The Message]
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. [NIV]

It says in the Bible that God cares for the birds and the windflowers, the flowers most of which nobody will ever see yet are so simply beautiful.

How much more does God love us, treasure us, want us to love Him? We are blessed to know God; He loves us. He is real. "My God is so big, so strong and so mighty -- there's nothing my God cannot do."

I've got to obey Jesus. So that His plan and purpose for me, for us, will prevail. Not so that I can feel good about myself like I've done something great. I'm God's daughter... and I'm also His servant. I owe Jesus everything.

All I have to give Him is my life. Have it, Jesus. It's not much -- but I'm Yours.
