a single poppy

it's the day where we pause for a minute and remember those who went to war and fought for our country. we remember the young men who had a life and ambitions and dreams that didn't include putting their lives onto the battlefield, where they were never the same. where they lost pieces of themselves; their arms and their hearts. and some of them didn't come home.

like these soldiers who gave their lives for their country... i have to give up my life, too. my plans, my dreams, my wants and my needs. absolutely needing an iPod touch and a camera and the perfect day.

I have to give up my life to God. Like them, I will never be the same.

Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. 


Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon.


 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. [Ephesians 6, MSG]
