in our weakness.

You know how sometimes you just want to be good at something?

But imagine if everyone was suddenly good at everything; we could all do everything perfectly. There'd be no way to strive for our best. There'd be no feeling of satisfaction when you complete something that, quite frankly, you wanted to give up on a long time ago.

This world isn't perfect.

2 Corinthians 12:7
"My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness." Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.

Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

I love what Paul's saying. "I used to just focus on what I couldn't do. The fact that with my weaknesses, I was a lost cause. But then I just let Jesus take over; in my weakness, I become stronger, because Jesus moves in on my weakness."

And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.
That's a bit of a strange verse, isn't it? I mean, usually the weaker you get the weaker you become until you're nothing more than a couple of bones.

But that's not the case. Because when we realize that we're as high and mighty as we think we are, that nothing we accomplish is of our own accord, but of Jesus' -- we can let go, let God. Let Jesus, in our weaknesses, in the things we think we're a major fail at in life -- take over.

dear Jesus,
i pray that, in everything, You'll take over.
i pray that i'll become stronger in my weaknesses through You Jesus; that i forget about myself and look to You for everything.

Because you know, it's not me, it's not you, who does good things for God.
It's God who does good things for us.
And we've gotta pass on the blessing, right?
Love people, serve people, bless people.

  2. thank you so much, Emii. i'm going to have to read through this slowly later and pray through the Scripture and golden bits of wisdom you've received from God and included in this post.

i just typed up this long reply to your post to comment here, and then decided i should probably just add to it a little more and make it a blog post. ;) so, anyway, i'll have that over on my blog soon, Lord willing. i've got so much schoolwork to do, it might be awhile. :P

meanwhile, just please, please be praying for me. thanks. <3

  3. I am totally in awe of God. He uses me in spite of my weaknesses. Somehow He can use ME. But not because I'm qualified or adequate, but because I'm NOT!

You phrased it so beautifully, Emii. It definitely senonates with me (and I'm sure everyone else!). Praise God!
