David's words bring... comfort

I've been reading Psalms lately, and its words bring comfort. *Going to get Bible.*

Find rest, oh my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him.He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. -- Psalm 62:5-6

Find rest. Got it.

In God alone. 

My hope comes...

From Him.

God is my rock. My salvation.  My fortress...
My soul will not be shaken.

We rely on so much, do we not? We try to fix ourselves so that people won't have any complaints. We stop eating all that chocolate so that we can stop being so unhealthy. But then, after so many tries, so many fails , too many falls... we just want to give up. Because we can't do this. How can we ever be everything we wish we could be?

One of my favourite verses tells us.

Jesus was blunt: "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you let God do it."

So, we might be asking, "Why can't I just be beautiful? Why can't I just be so utterly hilarious? Why is yummy food always so bad for me? Why are my grades so pathetic? Why am I sitting alone at lunch?"

But what I think I need to be asking is...

Jesus? I want to be more like You. I want my life to be as real and as full of love and grace as Yours was. I want to know hope and believe in Your life; real life. I don't want to miss the opportunities. I don't want to be afraid to speak and believe the truth... Your truths.
I want to be courageous.

Send forth Your light and Your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to Your holy mountain, to the place where You dwell. -- Psalm 43:3

Guide me Jesus. His light will guide us. Does guide us.. is guiding us. 

[trust] a person on whom or thing on which one relies: God is my trust. 
2.confident expectation of something; hope.


I must trust Jesus. I say it day by day, "I trust You Jesus."


But what does it mean? Really? To trust Jesus?
