because of a grey sky
In Bible class today, we were watching this video clip thing and people in Jerusalem were worshipping in the temple. And this isn't two thousand years ago I'm talking about -- it's now.
And it made me think. It could be just me so I'm not going to go around saying, "we" but --
When do I worship God? I spend so much time asking God about this and asking Him for that and thanking Him for doing that -- but how often do I look out my rain-smeared window at that beautiful grey sky and stare out in wonder at this place God made.
There was nothing. Then there was something. You made this place God.

Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways.Learn to do good.Seek justice.Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows. [isaiah 1:16-17]
Looking out at that grey sky raining thousands and thousands of tears, the trees swaying to the melancholy rhythms of the atmosphere... I felt peace. It was a sacred moment. It was holy. I heard God. In the wintry whispers, I heard His peace.
I love this! Such a beautiful illustration of God's greatness!
ReplyDeletelove that verse. and you're right...how often do i just praise my God, shower Him with thanksgiving? when do i take the time to worship my loving Creator?
ReplyDeleteand, hey, just wanted to let you know that i read your blog pretty much every time you post, and i love it pretty much every time. :) and when i don't comment, it's just because i'm not functioning enough to come up with something comment-worthy. ;)
love and blessings,

I love this! And I think I really needed to hear this, so thanks.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate to this (and I am sure that tons of other people can as well). Sometimes, we can benefit a lot just from "listening" to God, spending that moment sitting in silence and letting your heart do the talking.
