Sitting on the hammock, looking up at that smiley-face shaped speck in the sky. The light that guides our night.

We watched a documentary the other day, In the Shadow of the Moon. It fascinated me, because it's the most bizare, most awesome thing; imagine, looking up at the moon as we so often do, and thinking, "I went there. I walked on that."

We go on holidays and we talk about them, remembering it in pictures in our heads, or even photographs. But we can't look around where we are now and say, "There it is, that's the place we went." Yet there's the moon, and a few people on this earth really do look up and say, "I went there."

Jim Lovell said, We learned a lot about the Moon, but what we really learned was about the Earth. The fact that just from the distance of the Moon, you can put your thumb up, and you can hide the Earth behind your thumb. Everything that you have ever known, your loved ones, your business, the problems of the Earth itself, all behind your thumb. And how insignificant we really all are. But then how fortunate we are to have this body, and to be able to enjoy living here amongst the beauty of the Earth itself. 

What a different perspective. I can hardly begin to wonder what it would be like. We say Heaven like it means the same thing as "whatever" or something. But Heaven is a real place. It's not in this world.

The moon is the closest thing to us. The planets in our solar system are so far away -- and that's only our solar system. There's things a hundred light years away out there -- and I don't even know what a hundred light years is, but it probably would take something like a hundred years to get there. (Of course, I've got absolutely no idea so maybe go to the library and check that out for yourself...)

God created the universe. And when we die, we leave this universe. Oh, Heaven is real! Jesus is there. He's saving a place for us, He is, and if He wasn't, he said, He wouldn't have said so. Jesus loves you. He came to earth, from his home, Heaven -- because He loves you. Jesus -- God -- really did come to earth because He didn't want us, His creation, to die for what we did wrong. For what we do wrong every single day of our lives. And we're so blessed and not even thankful, at least I'm not, not barely. Because I don't really understand, because some part of me doesn't understand how I could really die, not live this life here forever -- but I won't.

I'm blessed to live this day. To live today. Today is all I will ever have, tomorrow doesn't come around, because as soon as we think it's come, bam, it's today.

God is bigger than time. We know that our "God is so big," but He is bigger than the universe, and that is something so insanely incomprehensible that we just brush it aside. It's like, the more important and hard to grasp yet so necessary something is... the more we shrug our shoulders and wave it on by. God made you. He made this place we live in. He knows you. Every mistake and every act of goodness. He listens to every laugh and every whimpered prayer. He knows you. And He wants you to seek His face. Seek His face. 

To seek His face. 

When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen.

When you come looking for me, you'll find me.
