nothing can separate us

I went and stood over by the window. The sun long gone, stars flooded the sky. They shone, thousands of stars tucked into the heavens. When you look at them, you see things you’d forget otherwise:

It’s not as lonely here as it sometimes seems. It’s not as hopeless as it can feel. And it’s not as messy and complicated as we are so liable to believe, these simple lives we lead. We judge a life by the words we hear, the fashions that stroll by, the feelings that soar through us.

We forget about hope, though it is the underlying truth in us. We forget that to have courage is to try again, though we’ve failed countless times in all the wrong ways.  And we understand that to be alive is to be content to simply be. In this moment, surrounded by a thousand pieces of light. They’re a chorus, by simply being.

"wherever you are, be all there." -- jim elliot

embarrassing bravery ilove this quote so much

Hebrews 6:19,
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

.
Galations 5:22-23,
But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

Love this verse.

Galations 5:23-24,
Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified.

Galations 5:25-26,
Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.

Do small things with great love

Romans 8:38-39,
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
